Submission for all types of manuscripts
to Aerospace Science and Technology proceeds totally online via our Elsevier Editorial System (EES) website at http://ees.elsevier.com/aescte.
When submitting via the EES website, you will be guided through the creation and uploading of various files and data, as well as a submission
letter and the names and addresses (including email) of at least three possible referees. The last stage of submitting your manuscript
is selecting one of our editors who you wish to handle your manuscript. Various formats are permitted for the initial submission, including
PDF files. The final revision must be as a Word or other suitable word processor document. When a Word or equivalent document is uploaded
as the initial submission, the system automatically generates an electronic (PDF) proof, which is then used for reviewing. All correspondence,
including the editor's request for revision and final decision, will be by e-mail.
Submission Language: English. (Link
to the Oxford English Dictionary.) Abstracts should also
be supplied in one of the following languages if applicable to the author: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish and Dutch. English
language help service: Upon request, Elsevier will direct authors to an agent who can check and improve the English of their paper
(before submission). Please contact authorsupport@elsevier.com for further information.
Types of contributions: •original works, surveys, and multi-disciplinary works; •articles derived from papers delivered at conferences
with no published minutes, from memoirs of theses or from summaries that have already been published but as such only; •short
notes requiring rapid publication for considerations of scientific policy; •book reviews.
Corresponding author:
Clearly indicate who is willing to handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure
that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address.
Full postal addresses must be given for all co-authors. Please consult a recent journal paper for style if possible.
Original
material: Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an
abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its
publication is approved by all authors and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any
other language, without the written consent of the Publisher.
Editor's requirements:
Detailed instructions on manuscript
preparation and artwork instructions can be found below, please also ensure that the manuscript is no more than 7,000 words in length.
One SINGLE COLUMN figure counts for 170 words. Authors are requested to format their text as it would be printed in Aerospace Science
and Technology. DO NOT exceed 10 pages. The editor reserves the right to return manuscripts that do not conform to the instructions
for manuscript preparation and artwork instruction prior to refereeing.
General: Editors reserve the right to adjust style to
certain standards of uniformity. Original manuscripts are discarded one month after publication unless the Publisher is asked to return
original material after use. Please ensure that the manuscript is no more than 7,000 words in length. Back

Structure: Follow this order when typing
manuscripts: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Title and Abstract in the language of the author if requested, Keywords (in both
languages if applicable), Main text, Acknowledgements, Appendix, References. Tables and figures, with their captions, should not appear
in the text, but be placed together on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript. (Do not import figures into the text - see Illustrations.)
Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article and do not include them on the title page, as a footnote to
the title or otherwise. Back to the contents list
Text
Layout: Print the entire manuscript on one side of the paper only, using double spacing and wide (3.5 cm) margins.
Ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. Present tables and figure legends on separate pages at the end of the manuscript.
If possible, consult a recent issue of the journal to become familiar with layout and conventions. Number all pages consecutively, use
12 or 10 pt font size and standard fonts. Back to the contents list
Corresponding
author: Clearly indicate who is willing to handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication,
also post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address
and the complete postal address. Full postal addresses must be given for all co-authors. Please consult a recent journal paper
for style if possible. Back to the contents list
Abstract: A self-contained abstract outlining in a single paragraph the aims, scope and conclusions of the paper must be
supplied. Back to the contents list
Keywords: Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of five keywords (in both English and the author's language
if applicable). Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible. Back

Symbols and unit: Only ISO symbols, always
written in italic, should be used for the various parameters. SI units should be used throughout, and should always be written in roman
and separated from the numerical value by a space (whatever the language). The μ in μg or μm is always in roman. The symbol
for litre is L and that for minute is min. For temperatures, please note the use of °C and °F but K. As the Ångströ"m
(1 Å = 10-10 m) is not an SI unit, it should be replaced by the nanometre (1 nm = 10-9 m) or by the picometre
(1 pm = 10-12 m): 1 Å = 0.1 nm = 100 pm. Multiple units should be written with negative superscripts (for example, 25
mguL-1us-1).
The list of notations should appear just before the first paragraph of full text.
Equations and numbers: Equations should
be carefully typed with attention paid to exponents and subscripts. Those that are referred to in the text [in the form: equation (1),
for example] should be numbered using Arabic numerals, in brackets, on the right-hand margin. Punctuation should not be used at the end
of an equation. Particular care should be taken to distinguish between the number zero (0) and the letter O; the number one (1) and the
letter l, the Roman letter v and the Greek letter nu (n). The decimal logarithm should be written "log" and the natural log "ln". The abbreviation of the exponential function is a roman e (for example, ex) or exp (for example,
exp (u2 + n)). In expressions of the type dxdt, the letter d (derivative function) is always written in
roman, whereas the physical parameter (x or t) is always in italics. Numbers are written in numerals when they are
followed by units, these being represented by their SI symbols (10 % but a few percent). In numerals, each group of three letters should
be separated by a space (except for dates and postal codes).
All
publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following the text of the manuscript. Indicate references
by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always
be given. Example: "..... as demonstrated [3,6]. Barnaby and Jones [8] obtained a different result ...."
List: The list of references
is arranged alphabetically and then numbered (numbers in square brackets). Examples: Reference to a journal publication:
[1] J. van der Geer, J.A.J. Hanraads, R.A. Lupton, The art of writing a scientific article, J. Sci. Commun. 163 (2000) 51-59. Reference
to a book: [2] W. Strunk Jr., E.B. White, The Elements of Style, third ed., Macmillan, New York, 1979. Reference to a chapter
in an edited book: [3] G.R. Mettam, L.B. Adams, How to prepare an electronic version of your article, in: B.S. Jones, R.Z. Smith
(Eds.), Introduction to the Electronic Age, E-Publishing Inc., New York, 1999, pp. 281-304. Back

list
Tables: Tables should be numbered consecutively and given
suitable caption and each table printed on a separate sheet. No vertical rules should be used. Tables should not duplicate results
presented elsewhere in the manuscript (for example, in graphs). Footnotes to tables should be typed below the table and should be referred
to by superscript lowercase letters. Back to the contents list
