We are very pleased to extend our congratulations to Nir Gavish of the Tel Aviv University in Israel for his paper "Singular Ring Solutions of Critical and Supercritical Nonlinear Schroedinger Equations" (co-authored with Gadi Fibich and Xiao-Ping Wang) which has been selected as one of the winners in the 2007 SIAM Student Paper Competition.
Published in Volume 231, Issue 1, July 2007 by Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, the award winning paper presents new singular solutions of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation.
This excellent achievement by Nir Gavish will be recognised at the 2008 SIAM Annual Meeting to be held July 7-11, 2008, at the Town and Country Resort Hotel in San Diego, California.
Description
Physica D (Nonlinear Phenomena) publishes papers and review articles reporting experiments, techniques
and ideas which advance the understanding of nonlinear phenomena in general. Contributions of this type in the recent literature have
dealt with: wave motion in physical, chemical and biological systems; chaotic motion in models relevant to turbulence, physical and biological
phenomena governed by nonlinear field equations; instability, bifurcation, pattern formation and cooperative phenomena.
