Underlying the powerful, yet easy to use search engine is a highly sophisticated thesaurus (EMTREE) containing more than 50,000 drug and medical indexing terms and more than 210,000 synonyms (including alternative drug names and MeSH subject headings used by the National Library of Medicine).
This structure plus the consistency of indexing across EMBASE and MEDLINE records form the foundation for the innovative and robust data access and retrieval routes that have been constructed. A series of check-off boxes and pull-down menus guide you through the process.
In addition, you can locate information by using chemical name, drug trade name or manufacturer name, device trade names or manufacturer names. 64 Routes of Drug Administration links can be used to modify drug terms by any associated administration route mentioned in the original article.

EMBASE.com Subscription Options
For an annual fee, institutions can offer their user communities unlimited access to as much as 37 years of EMBASE data (back to 1974) and unique MEDLINE records (back to 1966).
Because EMBASE.com is flexible, it will also be possible to license access to lesser amounts of data, according to subscriber preference.
