Could you please elaborate on what do you do at Elsevier?
My position is that of “Manager, Multimedia Production, Germany”. Multimedia is one of the three primary areas of activity of Global Book Production -together with the Book Project Management and Inventory Management. The main focus for me is project management, for example the launches of e-projects like: www.studentconsult.de, http://www1.us.elsevierhealth.com/BDI/index.php, http://www1.us.elsevierhealth.com/LLKJM/, http://www1.us.elsevierhealth.com/THB/, http://www.pflegeheute.de
How would you describe the challenges of your job?
Multimedia project management is quite easily described: “Multi -people, ideas, challenges, data formats, schedules, budgets, and languages” but only one common aim: to publish a really good product on schedule and in line with the budget.
What is the most interesting thing that you have learned from working at Elsevier?
“Problems” do not exist … only “challenges”.
What does working at Elsevier mean to you?
I very much enjoy working with colleagues and vendors all around the world: meeting and sharing the pleasure and the challenge of different languages, cultures and know how.
What do you like about Elsevier as company?
Our German claim/slogan is: “Wissen was dahinter steckt. Elsevier,” which means: Elsevier enables its customers. We enable our customers “to look behind, to understand and to look ahead” by supplying consolidated background knowledge as well as high-level contemporary knowledge and information. That’s what I like.
