Pension Scheme
Elsevier offers staff a defined contribution pension which is provided by Zurich, using their Group Personal Pension product. Should you decide to join the plan you will be asked to make regular contributions of at least 3% of your basic salary. Elsevier will match employee contributions at 3% up to a maximum of 5%. Life assurance of a lump sum of 4 times basic salary is payable to your dependant

Private Health Insurance
Elsevier offers private health insurance to all permanent employees with one or more year’s service. Elsevier pays the costs of the plan and any employee choosing to take advantage of joining the scheme will pay income tax on the amount of the premium - approximately £7 per month. The scheme enables you to have prompt specialist treatment recommended by your GP and in-patient treatment in private hospitals or National Health private beds for medical conditions as they arise.

Denplan
Elsevier has arrangements for all permanent employees to join our ’Denplan for Groups’ dental healthcare scheme. It is a voluntary benefit and employees who chose to join will enjoy reduced membership costs.

Holidays
We offer a generous holiday entitlement of 25 days per year, together with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 5 days annually. We also allow staff to carry over up to 5 days each year.

Share Option Scheme
All Elsevier employees have the opportunity to join the Reed Elsevier ’Save As You Earn’ Scheme (SAYE) in March of each year. This enables staff to purchase shares in Reed Elsevier at a pre-determined discounted price. If you choose to join the scheme, the money you’ve invested will earn interest while you save. At the scheme’s year-end you can potentially gain from the discount share price set at the start.

Season Ticket Loan
Elsevier offers season ticket loans to cover the cost of public transport to and from work. Elsevier will pay for the ticket directly and then deduct payment over the following months from your salary.
