Description Foot and ankle trauma remains an area of considerable challenge to both the orthopaedic trauma surgeon and the orthopaedic foot and ankle
surgeon. The limited soft tissue envelope coupled with high concentrations of forces across relatively small joints produce injuries
associated with substantial morbidity long-term. Continued developments in surgical techniques and specific, anatomically contoured
implants have led to improved treatment outcomes and functional results. This issue of Foot and Ankle Clinics includes contributions
from several well respected foot and ankle trauma surgeons, and focuses on current strategies in the management of foot and ankle trauma
and post-trauma reconstruction.
