Description
This issue of Clinics in Sports Medicine provides a comprehensive review of sports injury outcomes and evidence based recommendations for treatment of common injuries experienced in athletic and active populations. The issue is divided into four sections: ankle, knee, low back and shoulder. Each section will contain review papers written by experts in the field of sports medicine and will focus on outcomes following sports injuries followed by a review of interventions, treatments and management strategies to prevent injury, re-injury and promote optimal long term outcomes in active populations. Experts in each field have assembled reviews that provide the most up-to-date and current sports specific injury outcomes and provide evidence based recommendations for treatment of persons with orthopaedic injury. The information from this issue is intended to be used by clinicians and allied health professionals to help persons with orthopaedic injury lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
