Description
EMBASE logo

EMBASE is a biomedical and pharmacological database which gives you access to the most up-to-date information about medical and drug-related subjects.

Current

EMBASE is the most current biomedical database available today: articles appear in the database, on average, within 2 weeks upon receipt of the original journal. Each record contains the full bibliographic citation, indexing terms and codes; 80% of all citations in EMBASE include author-written abstracts.

Comprehensive in Drug Related Literature

EMBASE contains over 11 million records from 1974 to present, with over 500,000 citations and abstracts added annually. These records reflect all current developments in biomedical and drug-related fields. Comprehensive inclusion of drug-related information makes EMBASE particularly valuable. EMBASE is the database of choice when carrying out drug-related searches.

Coverage

The EMBASE journal collection is international with over 5,000 biomedical journals from 70 countries. EMBASE features comprehensive coverage of:

• Drug Research, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmaceutics and Toxicology
• Human Medicine (Clinical and Experimental)
• Basic Biological Research
• Health Policy and Management
• Public, Occupational and Environmental Health
• Substance Dependence and Abuse
• Psychiatry
• Forensic Science
• Biomedical Engineering and Instrumentation

Convenient

EMBASE is available online via the major database vendors: DataStar, DIALOG, DIMDI, Ovid Online, and STN (all updated daily) and Lexis Nexis (updated weekly). EMBASE is also available on tape for in-house installation. In addition, a fully networkable version is produced in cooperation with Ovid Technologies. User support is provided through free training programs, training files, user aid publications and E-Helpdesk.
