Elsevier has initiated a Patient Access program to allow patients, family members and caregivers access, for a minimal processing fee, to medical articles that might help them better understand their health issues. Almost 100 journals covering different medical fields are testing this approach to provide a public service and help assess the level of public demand for medical information. 

Articles for the following journals are available through   DeepDyve, a document rental service.  Users can pay a small fee to read the article for a short period of time, but may not email, copy or print the article.
