| Introduction
A Camera
Ready Copy (CRC) manuscript is one in which your printout is fully
laid out, including illustrations and tables in their appropriate places. This
printout is then photographed/scanned and the photographic image/electronic
file is transferred to a printing plate.
Note: As this is a generic text which does not contain detailed
instructions specific to the scientific field you are working in, please make
sure that you discuss specific requirements with your Publishing Editor before
starting your work.
Although these guidelines were written for authors of monographs, they can
also be used by editors of multi-author volumes who intend to prepare a
uniform camera-ready copy from the material submitted by contributing
authors.
Please supply us with a PDF file, with all fonts
embedded, of the complete book on a CD-Rom. In the case of LaTeX files, a
PostScript file of the complete book on a CD-Rom is requested. In both cases,
a hardcopy should be sent together with the CD-Rom. The hardcopy will be used
for in-house review or will be used when no PDF or PostScript file is
available.
Book Formats
Our standard book formats are: 16.5 x 24 cm and 15
x 22.5 cm, with type areas of 12.5 x 19.5 cm and 11.5 x 18.5 cm, respectively.
Please
note that these are definitive formats and no reduction of the page
format will take place at the printing stage. If your manuscript has been
previously contracted for a different book format, you will need to
adapt the dimensions for the approporiate (Elsevier) text area.
Language
If English is not your native tongue, it may be
advisable to have your final text checked by a native speaker. Both British
and American spelling are acceptable, as long as these are used consistently
throughout the manuscript, or throughout the article/chapter in the case of a
multi-author volume.
Proof Chapter
Rather than formatting your entire book at one
time, we recommend that you send us a sample chapter at an early stage. We
will evaluate this and pass any suggestions for improvement to you before you
start producing the rest of your book.

guidelines for CRC submission.
