Screening for technical standards Before papers are passed to peer reviewiers, Elsevier screens them to ensure they are of sufficient quality and that they adhere to the Guide for Authors. Papers that do not meet this minimum technical standard will be returned to the submitting author(s), along with a checklist of missing or insufficient items. Authors will be able to resubmit once they have addressed these technical insufficiencies.
CiteAlert CiteAlert is a service which automatically notifies authors by e-mail soon after their work is referenced in a newly published article on SciVerse ScienceDirect.
Authors are eligible to receive CiteAlert notifications if their article has been indexed by SciVerse Scopus, the largest citation database of research literature. Please note, self-citations are not included. An example of a CiteAlert notification can be found here.
