Once your paper is accepted for publication, Elsevier does the following:


1.  Registration: Elsevier 'logs' your paper. This involves:

•  Giving it a unique reference number for tracking
•  Checking your paper for completeness
•  Checking your artwork for clarity
•  Sending the corresponding author an acknowledgement letter
  with a reference number that can be used to track the paper
•  Sending you a copyright form and offprint order form

2. Production:  Elsevier puts your paper into production. This involves:

•  Copy-editing it into the journal style
•  Ensuring your artwork is added in the agreed layout
•  Creating a proof copy to be sent to you for final review

3. Publication:  Elsevier publishes your paper. This involves:

•  Correcting any errors you identify on the proof copy
•  Sending the final copy to the printer
•  Distributing the printed journal to subscribers

4.  Sends you your offprints.
These are generally dispatched within two to four weeks after publication. You can check the dispatch date using the article tracking facility. Please note that delivery times depend on the destination.   more info

During the time between your paper's acceptance and its final printing we will ask you to:

1.  Review a proof copy to check for errors or add missing details.
2.  Complete a copyright form.
3.  Complete an offprints order form, if extra offprints are requested.
