nurse for life – The Future of UK Nursing Education is Here

Integrated learning experience facilitated by electronic solution

London, 15 September 2008 - Elsevier, world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, announced today that it is launching nurse for life a new electronic product for UK nursing students. Elsevier currently publishes some of the most popular nursing textbooks in the world and to ensure students can maximize their use of this world class content, the electronic solution nurse for life (External link  www.nurseforlife.com) has been created specifically for the British nursing community.

nurse for life allows nursing students to access their textbooks electronically via a DVD that loads the ebooks they have purchased on to the hard drive of their computer. They can then access key information quickly by electronically searching across their textbooks, and save time with the automatic reference tool, which imports all the bibliographic information whenever a quote or passage is copied.

Being able to use all of the images in the books for presentations and assignments is a real asset to students. To cater to different learning styles, many books feature a wide range of 3D animations for an integrated learning experience. One of the most popular features is the highlighting and notes tools where students can collate information and customize their textbooks.

With online tools such as Wikipedia and Facebook there is a demand for study tools to move onto an electronic environment, giving students the flexibility to work and play in the same way.

“We know that British students like to work online and spend hours flipping between Wikipedia, Facebook and Google. All the content in nurse for life has been written and reviewed by experts working in nursing. When they access nurse for life, you can be sure that your students are getting the same trusted learning as they have from all our leading textbooks” commented Stephen Bradley, Vice President, eSolutions, Elsevier Health Sciences Division

nurse for life will allow UK students to expand the range of electronic tools they have for both home life and study. nurse for life is available from September 2008 in selected bookstores and directly from External link  the Elsevier store.
