ICL Prize

Congratulations to François Auzel on receiving the 2008 ICL Prize Citation for the discovery of energy transfer up-conversion processes in solids and for a lifetime of important contributions to the field of luminescence. The award was presented at the 2008 International Conference on Luminescence and Optical Spectroscopy of Condensed Matter (ICL '08).

All workers in the field of luminescence are eligible to be considered for the Prize. The award will recognize the accomplishments of an individual in theory, experiment, or in applications. The contributions must have had a recognizable impact on the science and technology of light emissive properties and materials. No time limitations are placed on the work to be cited. There are, of course, no restrictions on age, race, sex, or nationality of the individual to be recognized by the award.
