Article Transfer Service

Rethink the way you Publish - Physics

No need to reformat. No need to resubmit

Our latest improvement to the manuscript submission process is a complimentary Article Transfer Service (ATS) designed to save authors valuable time and effort when submitting to our journals.

What does this mean for me?

If you are unsuccessful in your original manuscript submission, you can decide to have your manuscript transferred to another more suitable journal by our experienced Managing Editor, Gaia Lupo, without the need to reformat. The service is freely available to all submitting authors within the Elsevier Physics family and aims to save you valuable time and effort.

Benefit from:

  • No need to reformat or resubmit- we will transfer your manuscript for you.
  • Faster publication.
  • Maximise your publication options.
  • Benefit from keeping the first submission date of your manuscript.
  • Remain in control of the submission process with minimal effort.

How can I be involved?

The ATS is only available to authors who have already submitted their manuscript to one of the journals within the physics family. If the Editor decides your manuscript is more suitable for another Elsevier journal, they will invite you to use the complimentary article transfer service to save you the hassle of resubmitting and reformatting your manuscript.

Elsevier is helping to improving manuscript submission and peer review processes

Peer review plays an integral role in the interaction and communication between authors, readers, reviewers and editors as the established method to evaluate the quality of science. We recognise though that there are shortcomings, and sometimes even frustrations, associated with the traditional manuscript submission and peer review processes. Our aim is to help facilitate and develop fast, effective and truly innovative solutions to improve the overall manuscript submission and peer review process for all individuals concerned.

Traditional publishing processes are changing and in this context we have established a family cluster of linked journals within the physics field. This allows us to foster collaboration between those journals, enabling us to deliver more options and better services to improve the publication process.
