International Journal of Applied Earth Observation
and Geoinformation is calling for Review Papers
in all areas of research activity that are related to the fields of
geoinformation science and earth observation. As of 2008, the journal will be
included in the impact factor ranking by Thomson Scientific.
Reviews represent thoroughly documented and comprehensive peer-reviewed
assessments of selected areas of the geoinformation and earth observation
research literature for the primary purpose of synthesizing the progress of
research and identifying critical research priorities. As such, the reviews we
publish will provide an up-to-date distillation of progress and potential
within this expanding area of research need. Criteria for acceptability
include current importance of the field under review, thoroughness of the
literature coverage and brevity and clarity of the text. Fields of interest
are broad and include spatial statistical aspects of scale, mining of remote
sensing images, data mining for geodatabases, spatial data quality, ontologies
in geoinformation sciene, multi-temporal images and monitoring with remote
sensing as well as 'image fusion. Novel contributions that cross traditional
disciplines are particularly welcome.
We encourage in particular reviews with a strong component from developing
countries.
Please send your ideas for possible review submissions to Alfred
Stein, Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Applied Earth
Observation and Geoinformation, and he will be happy to advise you further.
