TETRAHEDRON PRIZE 2005 AWARDED TO PROFESSOR BERND GIESE
The Executive Board of Editors and the Publisher of Tetrahedron Publications
are pleased to announce that the Tetrahedron Prize for Creativity in Organic
Chemistry for 2005 has been awarded to Professor Bernd Giese.
Professor Bernd Giese was awarded the Tetrahedron Prize for his creative
research in free radical chemistry and his investigation of electron transfer
processes in DNA. His fundamental contributions to our understanding of
free-radical chemical and biomedical reactions have boosted the field and led
to the development of important new synthetic methods in organic and
carbohydrate chemistry.
