JOURNAL TITLE CHANGE

In January 2011 Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM becomes
Computational and Theoretical Chemistry

Editors: Clifford Dykstra, Ajit J. Thakkar, Manuel Yáñez

As of January 2011, the Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM will have a new name, Computational and Theoretical Chemistry. The journal long ago transcended its original role to report theoretical investigations of molecular structure, and its new title highlights that. As well, this change marks an important step forward in how the journal serves the community of scientists who develop and apply computational approaches to chemical problems based on fundamental theoretical principles.

The Journal of Molecular Structure was founded by Professor Orville-Thomas in 1967, and in 1985, it was decided to launch the Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM. The original relationship between J. Mol. Struc. and J. Mol. Struc. THEOCHEM was emphasized by a system of shared volume numbering which will cease as of January 2011.

THEOCHEM has been slowly and continuously growing in terms of number of submissions, impact factor, speed of production, and so on. Under the new title of Computational and Theoretical Chemistry, the Editors and Publisher will be taking concerted steps to see further enhancement in the speed of production and growth in quality of submissions. The overall objective is to present papers that attack genuine chemical problems using sophisticated computational approaches tied to physical concepts and sound theoretical developments.
