Dr. Xiongwei Zhu

Dr. Xiongwei Zhu

Dr. Xiongwei Zhu is Associate Professor of Pathology at the Case Western Reserve University. He received his Ph.D. in 2002 from the Department of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University. He was a postdoctoral fellow and instructor in pathology until he became Assistant Professor in 2004. His recent research focuses on the understanding of mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction in Alzheimer disease and other neurodegenerative diseases and how mitochondrial dysfunction contributes to the pathogenesis of these neurodegenerative diseases. He is the recipient of many awards including International Junior Investigator Award from International College of Geriatric Psychoneuropharmacology and Young Scientist Lectureship Award from the International Society for Neurochemistry
