International Dairy Journal Editor Receives International Award
Professor Alan Kelly of University College Cork, and an editor of IDJ, has been awarded the Danisco International Dairy Science Award. This important award recognises outstanding accomplishments in research and development outside of the USA and Canada in chemistry, microbiology, technology, or engineering pertaining to the dairy industry. The award citation specifically recognised Prof. Kelly’s contributions in the areas of milk enzymology and high-pressure processing of dairy products. As part of the award ceremonies, Professor Kelly delivered a keynote address titled “From the udder to the fridge: the impact of milk proteins and enzymes through the dairy chain”.
The presentation ceremony took place on July 14th 2009 during the annual meeting of American Dairy Science Association, held this year in Montreal, Canada.
Meat Science Editor Keynote Speaker at Chinese Author Workshop
An author workshop held in June 2009 at China Pharmaceutical University attracted over 400 participants from 10 universities. Guanghong Zhou, an editor of Meat Science and Vice President of Nanjing Agricultural University, was among the speakers advising delegates on how to prepare a scientific paper for publication in academic journals.
