The nominations for this award were made by the Section Editors of the journal. Each section editor was asked to nominate one to two Associate Editors for their outstanding work in 2008.
Section: Hydrological Analysis
Editor: Frank E. Ward, New Mexico State University, USA Dr. Ward has conducted basin scale analyses integrating hydrology, agronomy, institutions, and economics to support sustainable river basin management. His recent work on basin analysis has been applied to the Rio Grande Basin of North America and to river basins in Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey. Ward has published extensively on water resources, including more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles in water resources systems analysis and policy, environmental management and water resource economics. He served as an associate editor for Water Resources Research and currently an associate editor for the Journal of Hydrology.
