Metadata for XML articles and chaptersOn this page we make a metadata package available to our readers, which extracts metadata from a journal article or a book chapter and writes them as RDF data. The journal article must be an XML file according to one of Elsevier's Journal Article DTDs, versions 4.5.x or 5.x.y . The book chapter must be an XML file according to one of Elsevier's Journal Article DTDs, versions 5.x.y (book series), or according to one of Elsevier's book DTDs, versions 5.x.y. The RDF data are data in the Dublin Core namespace and in the Prism 2 namespace.
If the issue or book project file is present, issue or book project information is included in the metadata. The issue file must be an XML file according to Elsevier's Journal Issue DTD, version 5.1.0. The book project file must be an XML file according to one of Elsevier's book DTDs, versions 5.x.y .
See the README file for more information. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for questions, suggestions and contributions.
New in release 20090515: The publication data file is now compatible with the Science Direct holdings files. This causes a backwards incompatible change to the file: no namespace and an element name change. See the README file.
Release 20090515, published on 15 May 2009.
Download the metadata zip file and unpack it to a directory of your choice. Run the XSLT script metadata.xsl on any XML file for which you want to extract the metadata.
