Elsevier Names CEO of Science & Technology Division
Amsterdam, 23rd March 2011 – Elsevier, a leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services today announced the appointment of Ron Mobed as Chief Executive Officer, Science & Technology, based in Amsterdam.
Ron Mobed joins Elsevier most recently from Cengage Learning, where he was President of the Academic & Professional group, and from Information Handling Services (IHS), where he was Co-President and Chief Operating Officer and ran IHS Energy division. Previously he was at Schlumberger, where he had a number of senior roles in business development, information management and as Global Vice President and General Manager of Schlumberger’s Information Management business. Mobed is a native of the UK and has lived and worked in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the US. He is a graduate of Imperial College London and Trinity College, Cambridge. Mobed will join Elsevier effective 4 April.
