Russian Academy of Sciences partners with Elsevier
Amsterdam, 22 August 2006 – Elsevier announces a publishing partnership with Mendeleev Communications. Under the agreement, Elsevier will publish six journal issues per year, both in print and in online form, on Elsevier’s leading platform ScienceDirect, beginning with the first issue in 2007. The journal is an official publication of the Russian Academy of Sciences, represented by the N.D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry. Mendeleev Communications has been published since 1991 and was launched jointly by the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Royal Society of Chemistry, the United Kingdom. The journal publishes original and significant results of wide general appeal or exceptional specialist interest, covering all branches of chemistry, as preliminary accounts and focus articles.
Professor Oleg M. Nefedov, Editor-in-Chief, Mendeleev Communications commented, ‘The partnership with Elsevier, one of the world-leading scientific publishers, and where Chemistry is among the main scientific fields, is of exceptional importance for the journal and I believe that this cooperation will be extremely fruitful for both parties’.
Patrick Jackson, Publishing Director for Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Sciences at Elsevier added that he was delighted that Mendeleev Communications had chosen Elsevier for their new Publishing Partner, and that both partners could be expected to benefit substantially from the new association.
