Process and metrics for establishing a successful integrated outpatient CDI program

This presentation employs a case study methodology to demonstrate how to successfully build an integrated CDI solution for physician offices. It will cover challenges and opportunities of an integrated solution, identify alternative workflows, and will pinpoint key measurements used to successfully monitor activities to insure program success. A basic structure for an outpatient program that can be replicated by organizations will be provided. Common pain points and shared solutions will be discussed.

Sue is currently Director of HIM Services for hospital and physician division of The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, Ohio. With more than 25 years in healthcare, Sue’s career has included acute care hospitals, very large multi-specialty physician groups, integrated healthcare systems, payer, consulting and education. Sue earned a Bachelor’s in HIM, and Master’s in Education (focus of Training and Development in the workforce) from Ferris State University. She enjoys coaching, students, physicians, support staff, coders, billers and administration in areas of documentation, coding, revenue cycle, etc., with the ultimate goal to help contribute to quality patient care.
