By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:
- Identify the major changes to ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and any related coding guideline updates
- Identify the major changes to ICD-10-PCS procedure coding and related coding guideline updates including new guideline B4.1c.
- Gain an understanding of how some of the changes may impact current coding practice and analysis of current and future data
Sandra Macica, MS, RHIA
Sandra Macica, MS, RHIA serves as the Coding Content Manager for the Revenue Cycle and Compliance segment of Elsevier. In her role, Sandy works to ensure that Elsevier’s coding lessons are relevant, accurate and up-to-date with the latest coding guidelines.
In her over 25 years of experience Sandy has held positions as supervisor, director, manager, and consultant in both acute care and outpatient health care settings. She has also been a clinical practicum instructor and adjunct faculty in a Health Information Technology program instructing students in coding and pathophysiology.
Sandy is a member of AHIMA and NYHIMA as well as a Past-President of the Adirondack Health Information Management Association (AdHIMA) and the New York State Health Information Management Association (NYHIMA).
Sandy earned a Master of Science degree in Health Service Administration from Russell Sage College in Albany, NY and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Record Administration from the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and an AHIMA approved ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS trainer.
