FY 2019 ICD-10-CM/PCS Update

There are multiple changes to ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, effective October 1, 2018. Learn about the changes that are applicable to your specialty or area of expertise and what you need to do about them. The goal of this webinar is to gain more knowledge of the ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and guideline changes effective October 1, 2018 and how they may impact coding reporting and data collection.
By the end of this webinar, participants will know or be able to do the following:
- Identify the major changes to ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and any related coding guideline updates.
- Identify the major changes to ICD-10-PCS procedure coding and related coding guideline updates.
- Gain an understanding of how certain changes may impact current coding practice, reimbursement, and analysis of current and future data.
Marion Gentul, RHIA, CCS has over 30 years of experience in the health information management profession focusing on inpatient coding, auditing and education. She has held positions as Consultant, Director of Health Information Management and Patient Access at a small, urban hospital, and adjunct coding instructor for two different colleges’ health information management programs. She authored chapters in the first four editions of the Elsevier/Saunders publication “Health Information Technology,” by Davis and LaCour, and has co-authored or contributed to many AHIMA publications. Marion has served on AHIMA’s Triumph Awards Committee as a member and Chair and the HIMAA/WEDI ICD-10 National Pilot Program. She has also served as President of the New Jersey Health Information Management Association, and the Delaware Health Information Management Association. She is a recipient of the AHIMA Mentor Triumph Award, the NJHIMA Distinguished Member award, and the State University of New York Distinguished Alumna award.
