CPT® Behavioral Health Care Management Services

Care management is an emerging team-based approach for managing a patient’s medical, social, and mental health conditions in a collaborative process. CPT® 2018 includes three new subsections and new codes in the evaluation and management (E/M) section specifically for care management of cognitive and behavioral health conditions. In this webinar, participants will learn about the new codes, definitions, and guidelines for coding and reporting the mix of services involved in the delivery of cognitive, psychiatric, and behavioral health care management.
By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:
- Recall the goals of care management models for mental or behavioral health conditions.
- Describe the new CPT subsections, codes, definitions, and guidelines for cognitive, psychiatric, and behavioral health care management.
- Correctly apply the new codes and guidelines to clinical examples of behavioral health care management services.
