InferMed today announced the release of the latest version of its MACRO EDC software. This latest release (MACRO 4.2.3.3850) includes a range of enhancements designed to improve the MACRO user experience and to add new performance efficiencies.

The new features of the latest release include:

  • Performance enhancements

A number of improvements have been made to the performance of the Web Data Entry module. These will be especially noticeable for studies with a large number of sites or a large number of users and user roles.

  • Improvements to data browser performance

An optional High Performance mode has been added which changes the way in which data is retrieved. Previously, data for the entire search result was retrieved on pressing the Execute button in the search panel. Now, by switching on the High Performance mode, users can choose to only retrieve results page-by-page which greatly improves the speed at which the results are displayed in the data browser.

  • New Batch Validation module

The new Batch Validation module offers much greater flexibility and more options for revalidation.

  • Study Upgrade Expression Checker added to the Study Data Diagnostic Utility module

A Study Upgrade Expression Checker has been added to the Study Data Diagnostic Utility module. This utility checks a study definition and provides a report listing any occurrences of Arezzo expressions that are known to behave differently in MACRO v3 and v4.

  • Clinical Coding module

Display and formatting improvements have been made to the Clinical Coding module.

Duane Lawrence, InferMed CEO, commented, “We are constantly looking to enhance the user experience for our MACRO customers and to include improved features and functionality in new MACRO releases. This latest release provides significantly increased performance, greater scalability and improved resource usage for our users.
