The Society for Policy Modeling

The Society for Policy Modeling is a permanent study group of scholars and researchers from universities, research institutions and international organizations promoting the application of analytical tools to national and international policy questions. A main purpose of the Society is to channel research efforts from all disciplines into an integrated study of global problems and policy issues using quantitative tools of analysis in a formal modeling framework. By doing so, studies promoted by the Society contribute to policy formulation by stressing the need to make current decisions in a manner compatible with the policy options of future generations, to integrate current national policies within a rapidly changing international setting, and to formulate sectoral policies that take into consideration social as well as economic trends and conditions.
