Hydrate Research from Chinese Academy of Sciences

Introduction

Natural gas hydrate is considered as a clean and potential energy resource due to the huge reserves and the abundant natural gas trapped in this resource. Therefore, hydrate research is attracting extensive attention from many governments, including China. Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is one of the research institutes leading the hydrate research in China, which started to study hydrate from 1990. Up to now, Key Laboratory of Gas Hydrate CAS, which was organized by Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS, has developed the hydrate research in the fields of Engineering, Chemistry, and Geology. Here we present a special article collection highlighting the latest representative research in hydrate from the CAS (2016-2017).

简介

天然气水合物由于天然气资源储量巨大被认为是非常具有潜力的清洁能源。因此,水合物研究正受到包括中国在内的多个政府的广泛关注。中国科学院是中国水合物研究领先的研究机构之一,自1990年开始研究水合物。目前,中国科学院广州能源研究所依托于中国科学院水合物重点实验室,开展了工程、化学、地质学等领域的水合物研究。本特刊列举出中国科学院在2016-2017年的水合物最新代表性研究成果。

Deputy director of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion CAS, director of the Key Laboratory of Gas Hydrate CAS, has researched in hydrate for over 12 years and published over 180 papers on hydrate. He is selected as Elsevier Most Cited Chinese Researchers from 2014-2016.
