Bee diseases

honey bee

Welcome to this bee diseases article selection, brought to you by Elsevier

In 2010, the Journal of Invertebrate Pathology published a Supplement examining the many different pathogens of bees.  It proved to be one of the most downloaded and most cited issues of the journal that we have ever published.

Eight years later, a recent issue of Current Opinion in Insect Science provides an overview of the current research status on bee health and bee pathogens. This issue can be viewed here.

As a companion to this issue and as a way of bringing together high impact articles from a range of our parasitology, entomology and related publications, we present some of the important research that we have published in the last 4 years pertaining to bee diseases and bee health.

Due to the great importance of bees as pollinators of many crops in many countries, bee health is a subject that continues to attract great interest and debate, and we hope this research selection contributes further to this important ongoing discussion.

All articles in this selection are open access or free to access until 31 December 2018.
