Find your BBA journal
BBA is a set of 10 international journals, encompassing biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, bioinformatics, metabolomics, proteomics, systems biology, and clinical studies. Find out which journal is relevant to your research.
BBA Bioenergetics covers the area of biological membranes involved in energy transfer and conversion. In particular, it focuses on the structures obtained by X-ray crystallography and other approaches, and molecular mechanisms of the components of photosynthesis, mitochondrial and bacterial respiration, oxidative phosphorylation, motility and transport.
BBA Biomembranes has its main focus on membrane structure, function and biomolecular organization, membrane proteins, receptors, channels and anchors, fluidity and composition, model membranes and liposomes, membrane surface studies and ligand interactions, transport studies, and membrane dynamics.
BBA Clinical is an open access biomedical journal dedicated to human research involving the molecular basis of human diseases, and findings from clinical trials that target biochemical pathways and processes. All articles in BBA Clinical should describe, in part or entirely, studies using human patient samples or human cohorts.
BBA Gene Regulatory Mechanisms includes reports that describe novel insights into mechanisms of transcriptional, post-transcriptional and translational gene regulation. Special emphasis is placed on papers that identify epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation, including chromatin, modification, and remodeling.
BBA General Subjects accepts for submission either original, hypothesis-driven studies or reviews covering subjects in biochemistry and biophysics that are considered to have general interest for a wide audience. Manuscripts with interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged.
BBA Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids publishes papers on original research dealing with novel aspects of molecular genetics related to the lipidome, the biosynthesis of lipids, the role of lipids in cells and whole organisms, the regulation of lipid metabolism and function, and lipidomics in all organisms.
BBA Molecular Basis of Disease addresses the biochemistry and molecular genetics of disease processes and models of human disease. This journal covers aspects of aging, cancer, metabolic-, neurological-, and immunological-based disease. Manuscripts focused on using animal models to elucidate biochemical and mechanistic insight in each of these conditions, are particularly encouraged.
BBA Molecular Cell Research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of cellular processes at the molecular level. These include aspects of cellular signaling, signal transduction, cell cycle, apoptosis, intracellular trafficking, secretory and endocytic pathways, biogenesis of cell organelles, cytoskeletal structures, cellular interactions, cell/tissue differentiation and cellular enzymology.
BBA Proteins and Proteomics covers protein structure conformation and dynamics; protein folding; protein-ligand interactions; enzyme mechanisms, models and kinetics; protein physical properties and spectroscopy; and proteomics and bioinformatics analyses of protein structure, protein function, or protein regulation.
BBA Reviews on Cancer covers the whole field of the biology and biochemistry of cancer, emphasizing oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, growth-related cell cycle control signalling, carcinogenesis mechanisms, cell transformation, immunologic control mechanisms, genetics of human (mammalian) cancer, control of cell proliferation, genetic and molecular control of organismic development, rational anti-tumor drug design.
