Thomas Wild is a general surgeon who specializes in wound management and septic surgery. Dr Wild has 15 years of experience in wound healing as well as in clinical routine and research.
Thomas Wild is the editor of the book Manual of Wound Healing published in 2007. He also authored and co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications on the topic of wound healing. As an international key opinion leader Dr Wild co-developed the European guidelines for topic negative pressure therapy and the guidelines of World Union of Wound Healing Societies.
Dr Wild established a master course in wound healing, which can be taken at the Medical University in New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, at Arabian Gulf University and will launch in Dessau/Bernburg (Germany), St. Petersburg and Moscow (Russia), Canterbury (UK), and Tuzla (Bosnia) in the near future.
Thomas Wild is affiliated to the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf under the patronage of Prof. Matthias Augustin where he is still conducting research for his habilitation. Dr. Wild is also the Medical Director of the German Wound Academy.
