Continuous improvement towards a sustainable energy future

Upstream Oil & Gas Technology is an online-only journal which aims to bridge the gap between the engineering and the science of sustainable natural gas and petroleum exploration and production. The journal will publish original and novel research for scientists and engineers working in any field of petroleum engineering, natural gas engineering, and petroleum & natural gas geology and strive towards efficient delivery of energy for net-zero carbon goals.

Like its parent journals the Journal of Natural Gas Science & Engineering, and the Journal of Petroleum Science & Engineering, Upstream Oil & Gas Technology's mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge in all the related and interconnected disciplines of upstream oil and gas technology.

Upstream Oil & Gas Technology publishes original articles, review articles and case-studies. Alongside welcoming direct submissions, the journal will benefit from an Article Transfer Service which will allow the author(s) to transfer their manuscript online from Journal of Natural Gas Science & Engineering and Journal of Petroleum Science & Engineering, thus saving authors time and effort spent on formatting and resubmitting.

The following exemplifies the range of subject matter that can be described and discussed in the journal:

Hydrocarbon resources and exploration

Drilling and completion technologies and techniques

Reservoir Physics

Enhanced oil & gas recovery (EOR & EGR)

Natural Gas Liquids

Natural gas processing

Oil and Gas Field optimisation

Pipeline systems

Underground gas storage (UGS)

Methane and other hydrates

Coal Bed Methane

Carbon Capture and Sequestration /Storage (CCS)

Oil & gas markets and supply chain economic analysis

Risks, safety, security and environment

Corrosion in Upstream Facilities

Machine Learning and Statistical Methods for Upstream Applications

Geochemistry
