Dr Thomas Meinelt completed his M.A. thesis in fish diseases and earned his Ph.D. in fish toxicology from Humboldt University of Berlin. He is a senior scientist and Deputy Head of the Department of Ecophysiology and Aquaculture at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Berlin, Germany. His current research fields are fish toxicity of potash mining effluents and alternative treatments in sustainable aquaculture.
