Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Munich, Germany
Dr Ralf Ludwig is Professor in Physical Geography and Environmental Modeling at LMU Munich, Department of Geography and currently the Dean of the Faculty of Geosciences. His research interests focus on climate and land use change impacts on water resources and hydrology. He works on the development of physically-based environmental models to describe, analyze and project related processes in temperate, semi-arid and sub-arctic climates. Further, he specializes in multi-scale and multi-parametric SAR and optical remote sensing, data assimilation and model integration. He is the Co-ordinator of the EU-FP7 project ‘Climate Induced Changes on the Hydrology of Mediterranean Basins’ (CLIMB) and chairs the collaborative program ‘Changes in the Hydrological Cycle’ of the European Climate Research Alliance ECRA (www.ecra-climate.eu).
