Dr. Phong Thai is a Senior Research Fellow at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS), the University of Queensland. Phong is an environmental scientist with interest in understanding the environmental fate and behaviour of anthropogenic pollutants in order to better planning of protective measure for environmental and human health.
His primary research focus on the application and extension of sewer-based epidemiology or simply wastewater analysis to assess community-wide health status and to monitor exposure to a range of chemicals/drugs. Phong also collaborates with colleagues at the International Laboratory of Air Quality and Health, Queensland University of Technology to research on the impact of air quality on human health in developing countries and to establish new air quality monitoring approach for the citizen science trend.
