Jianmin Chen is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Fudan University, Shanghai, where he also served as the Dean in 2004-2011. His research interest focuses on aerosol science, tropospheric multiphase chemistry, aerosol-cloud interaction, fine particle toxicology and haze episodes and formation. To date he has authored 210 papers, his ISI (Web of Knowledge) citations are 3340 with an H index of 31. At Fudan University, he teaches an undergraduate student class “Environmental Chemistry” and a graduate student class “Atmospheric Chemistry: From Theory to Practice”. He currently supervises eight Ph.D. students, four postdoctoral fellows.
He was awarded a first-rank project “Aerosol Heterogenous Reactions and its Radiative Forcing” by Ministry of Education of China in 2009, State Council special allowance expert in 2015， de chevalier dans l'ordre des palmes académiques awarded by the French Republic in 2015. He has currently served as an Editorial Board forAerosol and Air Quality Research (2008-), Advances of Environmental Research (2012-) and Journal of Environmental Science (2013-), as well as recently special issue Editors for the Journal of Environmental Science (Progress and prospects of atmospheric environmental sciences in China: Preface, 2014; Sources, chemistry, impacts and regulations of complex air pollution: Preface, 2016), Science of The Total Environment (Air Quality in China, 2015), Journal of Cleaner Production (Preventing smog crises in China and globally, 2016) and Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (Regional transport and transformation of air pollution in Eastern China, 2016).
