Dr Giorgio Buonanno was born in Cassino (Italy) on July 03rd, 1967. He graduated “cum laude” in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cassino (1992) and earned his PhD degree at the University of Cassino defending the thesis “Major in Air humidity properties and measurements”. He is currently Professor at the Department of Engineering, University of Naples “Parthenope” (Italy) and also adjunct professor at the Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane, Australia).
His research is focused on Heat and mass transfer in porous media, analysis of the most relevant techniques to measure thermal and fluid dynamics properties, environmental measurements (in particular airborne particle measurements at the emission of industrial plants, in urban areas, in indoor environments). He collaborates from 1992 with the main National Measurement Institutes (INRIM-Italy, PTB-Germany, LNE-France, NMIA-Australia). He is author of more than 200 papers on peer reviewed journal and international conferences.
