My research employs a multi-disciplinary, integrated framework to evaluate wildlife and human exposure to contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). Priority CECs of interest include flame retardants, plastic additives, perfluorinated chemicals, and pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs). Specific research interests are to: (1) identify and characterize the sources, distributions and fate of CECs in the environment; (2) elucidate the exposure pathways for humans and wildlife and environmental/ecological factors influencing the exposure; and (3) address toxic and ecotoxic effects in humans and wildlife via laboratory animal studies.
