Bryan W. Brooks is Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Institute of Biomedical Studies, and Director of the Environmental Health Science program at Baylor University, Waco, Texas, USA. His research, which focuses on environmental, aquatic and comparative toxicology and pharmacology, sustainable molecular design, developing approaches to define water quality, hazards and risks of contaminants of historical and emerging concern, water reuse, and the ecology and toxicology of harmful algae blooms, is ongoing on 5 continents. The author of over 140 refereed journal articles, editorials and book chapters, he serves on editorial boards of several journals, and has given keynote, plenary or invited lectures in 16 countries. Dr. Brooks received Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and served as a Fulbright Canada Visiting Research Chair in Water and the Environment in Alberta, Canada, and a Visiting Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
