Neuroscience Letters

Neuroscience Letters is devoted to the rapid publication of high-quality articles of interest to the broad community of neuroscientists. Only articles which will make a significant addition to the literature in the field will be published.

Manuscripts in all areas of neuroscience, including molecular, cellular, developmental, systems, behavioral, cognitive, and computational will be considered for publication. Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

Neurons and glia

Nervous system development and structure

Excitable membranes

Synaptic transmission

Sensory and motor systems

Pain - central and peripheral mechanisms

Autonomic regulation

Disorders of the nervous system

Behavior

Central nervous system (CNS) imaging

Submission of laboratory investigations that shed light on normal structure and function of the nervous system or on disease mechanisms are equally encouraged. Clinical studies will also be considered if they provide new information about organization or actions of the nervous system, or provide new insights into the neurobiology of disease. Neuroscience Letters does not publish Case Reports, Meta-analyses, or Literature Reviews in either the basic or clinical sciences.

Special Issues, edited by Guest Editors to cover new and rapidly-moving areas, will include invited Mini-Reviews as well as related articles submitted in the regular manner. Standard Mini-Reviews are by invitation, or in response to the Editor-in-Chief's approval of a pre-submission enquiry (see the Guide for Authors for detailed instructions).
