As an open access journal with no subscription charges, a fee is payable by the author or research funder to cover the costs associated with publication. This ensures your article will be immediately and permanently free to access by everyone. The open access publication fee for full-length articles is USD 2100 for ISN members and USD 2625 for non-ISN members; for brief reports the fee is USD 840 for ISN members and USD 1050 for non-ISN members, excluding taxes.

Funding Body AgreementsElsevier has established agreements with funding bodies, including Wellcome Trust and Research Councils UK. This ensures authors can comply with funding body open access policies and may also be reimbursed for their publication fees.
Author RightsFor open access publishing this journal uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors will retain copyright alongside scholarly usage rights and Elsevier will be granted publishing and distribution rights.
This journal publishes one volume per year.
