This journal is a peer reviewed, subsidized open access journal. Peer review under the responsibility of Egyptian Society of Cardio-thoracic Surgery.
All articles published open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute.
Permitted reuse is defined by the following user license(s):

As an open access journal with no subscription charges, authors or research funders must pay a fee to cover the costs associated with publication. This ensures your article will be immediately and permanently free to access by everyone.
No charges are required once the article is submitted. After processing the article and before sending the author a letter of acceptance, the charges should be paid through the head office of the journal in Cairo. The charges are 1200 LE. The author will pay extra fees for tables, figures and photos (more for colored ones) with a maximum additional charge of 500 LE.
No charges are taken from rejected articles.
To encourage submission of good articles from outside Egypt, the Journal will not charge accepted articles from authors of these articles.
Funding Body Agreements
Elsevier has established agreements with funding bodies, including Wellcome Trust and Research Councils UK. This ensures authors can comply with funding body open access policies and may also be reimbursed for their publication fees by their funding body.
For open access publishing, this journal uses a copyright transfer agreement. Authors will transfer copyright to the Egyptian Society of Cardio-thoracic Surgery, but will have the right to share their article in the same ways permitted to third parties under the relevant user license, as well as certain scholarly usage rights.
