This journal is a peer reviewed open access journal. Peer review under the responsibility of the American Dairy Science Association.

User rights

All articles published open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute. Permitted reuse is defined by your choice of one of the following user licenses:

Article Publishing Charge

We are pleased to inform you that the Journal of Dairy Science (JDS) is an open access journal.

This means that authors who publish in JDS can make their work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible worldwide. JDS authors will pay an article publishing charge (APC), have a choice of license options, and retain copyright to their published work.

The APC for JDS will be USD 3,500. Members of the American Dairy Science Association will receive a discounted price of USD 1,600 for papers submitted after 31 January 2022. Author rights

For open access publishing this journal uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors will retain copyright alongside scholarly usage rights and Elsevier will be granted publishing and distribution rights.
