Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP): 1.844 Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP):
SNIP measures contextual citation impact by weighting citations based on the total number of citations in a subject field.
SCImago Journal Rank (SJR): 0.94 SCImago Journal Rank (SJR):
SJR is a prestige metric based on the idea that not all citations are the same. SJR uses a similar algorithm as the Google page rank; it provides a quantitative and a qualitative measure of the journal’s impact.
Impact Factor: 2.992 (2019) Impact Factor:
The Impact Factor measures the average number of citations received in a particular year by papers published in the journal during the two preceding years.

5 Year Impact Factor: 3.271 (2019) Five-Year Impact Factor:
To calculate the five year Impact Factor, citations are counted in 2016 to the previous five years and divided by the source items published in the previous five years.

Mission and Scope

A journal of IFAC, the International Federation of Automatic Control

Welcome to Mechatronics: The Science of Intelligent Machines. Mechatronics is a refereed journal that publishes articles that report advances in the state-of-the-art in Mechatronics and related topics in Robotics. We welcome original submissions that report on the synergistic combination of precision mechanical engineering, electronic control and systems thinking in the design of products and manufacturing processes, and closely related applications in robotics. Some of the topics covered by this journal include:

Mechatronics: Actuators and sensors; automotive systems, hardware-in-the-loop and system integration; motion and vibration control; micro/nano systems and devices; modeling, identification and control of mechatronic systems; biomedical mechatronic systems; and advanced manufacturing.

Robotics: Robot control; soft robotics; field robotics; industrial robotics; human-robot interaction; medical robotics; autonomous vehicles; exoskeletons; legged robots and humanoids, teleoperation and haptics; and multi-robot system modeling and control.

Types of papers

Regular Articles: Articles that describe original research of high quality in Mechatronics or in Robotics.

Review Articles: Contain a detailed survey of established or emerging topics of interest to the journal readership.

Robotics and Mechatronics Letters: Short manuscripts, no longer than five printed journal pages, that report important time sensitive results in Robotics or in Mechatronics. These articles will go through a rapid review process overseen by a dedicated Co-Editor-in- Chief.

Book Reviews: A detailed review of published textbooks or research monographs of interest to Mechatronics readership.
