Open Access Publication Fee
As an open access journal with no subscription charges, authors or research funders must pay a fee to cover the costs associated with publication. This ensures your article will be immediately and permanently free to access by everyone. The open access publication fee for this journal is USD 2200, excluding taxes.

Funding Body Agreements
Elsevier has established agreements with funding bodies, including Wellcome Trust and Research Councils UK. This ensures authors can comply with funding body open access policies and may also be reimbursed for their publication fees by their funding body.
For open access publishing, this journal uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors will retain copyright but license exclusive rights in their article to the Beijing Institute of Genomics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Genetics Society of China. Authors have the right to share their article in the same ways permitted to third parties under the relevant user license, as well as certain scholarly usage rights.
