Professor Zaiku Xie received his PhD in 2000 from East China University of Science and Technology. He jointed SINOPEC Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology (SRIPT) in 1985, and where he was promoted to a professor of engineering. He was the president of SRIPT from 2003 to 2009, and now he is the director of the science and technology department of SINOPEC and the executive deputy director of the science and technology committee of SINOPEC. He is a standing director of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China from 2012, the vice president of the Catalysis Society of China from 2012, and the member of the Committee on Chemistry and Industry (COCI) of IUPAC from 2014. His research interests are mainly focused on the preparation, characterization, and industrially catalytic conversion of novel zeolite catalysts. He is the author or co-author of more than 120 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 160 patents. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of Chemical Reaction Engineering and Technology since 2011, and is an Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Catalysis.
Professor Zaiku Xie has won many important awards, such as the National Science and Technology Progress Prize (for two times), the National Technology Invention Prize (for two times), Gold Medal of Chinese Patent, and Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation by Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation. He was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2013 and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017.
