Open access journal

This journal is a peer reviewed, open access journal.

User Rights

All articles published open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute. Permitted reuse is defined by the following user license:

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND): for non-commercial purposes, lets others distribute and copy the article, and to include in a collective work (such as an anthology), as long as they credit the author(s) and provided they do not alter or modify the article.

If you need to comply with your funding body policy you can apply for the CC BY license after your manuscript is accepted for publication.

Open Access Publication Fee

As an open access journal with no subscription charges, a fee is payable by the author or research funder to cover the costs associated with publication. This ensures your article will be immediately and permanently free to access by everyone.

The gold open access publication fee for this journal is USD 1200, excluding taxes. Learn more about Elsevier's pricing policy.

Please note: Authors who have submitted or will submit papers between 12 July 2019 (included) and 12 July 2020 (excluded) will have their accepted paper published in CHM at no charge. Authors submitting papers on and after 12 July 2020 will be requested to pay the APC. 20% discount of APC will apply to all papers submitted on and before 30 June 2022.

From 12 July 2020 onwards, individual waiver requests shall be addressed to the editorial office at chmtianjin@126.com prior to submission, and will considered on a case-by-case basis and may be granted in cases of genuine need.

Funding Body Agreements

Elsevier has established agreements with funding bodies, including Wellcome Trust and Research Councils UK. This ensures authors can comply with funding body open access policies and may also be reimbursed for their publication fees.

Author Rights

For open access publishing this journal uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors will retain copyright alongside scholarly usage rights and Elsevier will be granted publishing and distribution rights.
